Description of Masonry
Masonry is working with brick, concrete block, glass block, tile, terra cotta and stone using mortar to put them together. The workers who work with these products are called Masons or Bricklayers.
Throughout civilization, architects and builders have chosen masonry for its beauty, versatility, and durability. It resists the destructive effects of time and weather, and remains beautiful for centuries to come.
The Egyptian pyramids, the Roman Coliseum, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Parliament buildings in Ottawa, are some of the world's most significant architectural achievements made of masonry.
But in today's world, you still see the work of a skilled mason/bricklayer - in office/commercial buildings, homes, schools, factories, patios, fireplaces, and more.
